After much excitement, I finally got to ask Thomas a few questions. Some of these are horribly over-asked, but I thought it would be fun to see what Thomas has to say, and I was right.
For those of you who don’t know, Thomas is a singer/songwriter from the wondrous land of Hollywood, California. He is this year’s winner of the John Lennon Songwriting contest.
Now, I could just copy, and paste the official biography found on his website, but I am not going to. Instead, I am going to attempt sharing my impression of Thomas, and hope that I can express myself well enough in English, so that I don’t leave anything out. Read the rest of this entry »
Okay, well I have been lazy lately. I’ll admit to that, and accept whatever punishment you folks decide is best for me. I am so behind on everything I SHOULD have posted on my blog that it is seriously not funny anymore :p
So there’s this guy – he kinda sorta writes for a living. His name is Lee Taylor. His upcoming book is called Bound, and it’s dropping this October on Ebook and November 21st on paperback.
This is what we know (‘officially’) about the book.
Ursine Edwards was a normal well-adjusted teenager prior to Summer vacation. Now he has unintentionally married a Demon, fallen into line with a wolf pack and is being hunted by witches as well as the government, who are all in turn trying to use Ursine for their own devices.
The reason I am super excited for this is because I was privileged enough to read a snippet from the book, a while back … Come to think about it, it was a long time ago. Wowzah. It impressed me so much that I hold on to that tingly feeling I get when I start reading a story I know I am not going to be able to leave before it is over. Aside from the fact that this book is beautifully written, and exciting, it could very well be the starter of the new Urban Fantasy book wave that has been constantly comin’ at us for a while now(and we all know who to blame for that…).
I had the chance of having a little chat with Lee. I am not going to call it an ‘interview’, mostly because well, I am not an interviewer, and Lee just did this out of the kindness of his heart … sooo… From a wannabe writer, to an actual writer…. That little snippet stayed with me, and that is why I am so excited for it to hit the stores, already!
I had fun reading Lee’s answers to my questions. He’s a witty guy, with a great sense of humor, and I hope you enjoy this little part that is up next, as much as I did

Did you ever stop and wonder where your artistic creativity comes from? Daryl from The Daily Post did.
As far as the “impulse to create”—what comes to mind is something like this. Say you were standing in a group of people, and nearby some guys were throwing a Frisbee around, and suddenly one of them misthrew, and here it comes now, right over your head—that impulse to jump up and catch it is similar to what I feel when I’m writing. Why did you jump? Not to “honor the Frisbee” or “make a connection with the thrower” or “serve as the conduit/recipient of the Frisbee’s symbolic journey, blah blah blah.” You did it…well, who knows why, really? Partly the motivation is a “because it’s there” kind of thing. You start a story and in rereading it, see a place where it could be made better. Well, why not?
~ interview with fiction author George Saunders
Thank you Daryl, because these words speak to me in ways I can’t explain. It is exactly how I feel at times. Sometimes I find myself unable to put words together in a sentence, or make a picture fit, and sometimes I have a gazillion ideas flying through my head, and I have the compulsion of catching as many as I can, and putting them on (virtual) paper. This brought a smile on my face, so double thank you
The only good thing out there was Josh. I hated the wait, but hey, everyone knows you gotta save the best for last. Despite everything and the fact it was 5 AM and i was still up, i couldn’t believe my ears. He came on stage, he sat at that piano, and he rocked the hell out of the arena! Changing colors is so good for his voice, i did not believe. It made all my annoyance with the other artists just fade away, all that was left was Josh, his voice, and the music. The world didn’t matter, just the music. Thank you Josh for an amazing performance, once again, thank you so very much, and Thank You for being you!
here are the two songs he singed, not posting the duet with Aretha, but instead linking you to another live YRMU. The Queen has lost her touch, unfortunately. That’s alright, though. Josh you were amazing, but you can’t be amazing for more than yourself. Chin up, we love ya even more.

The YRMU that’s worth hearing (any other version than Aretha’s duet, by that way)

here’s a cute footage from the rehearsals with Josh
and coming soon, an interview about a beautiful day, all together. (as soon as i get to upload it
)
I will also like to apologize, as many of the Grobanites did, about what happened in the chat room from the online stream. Many people were hurt and/or horrified about what was said in there, so i am truly sorry. This day was supposed to be a day for joy and equality, not for racism and homophobia. more info on the Josh Groban Message Board. I am not the one who started the thread, but you can find me there, my screen name is lovejoshssmile
till later,
Peace, Love , Respect,
Lexxa~
