A Musical Apology

I am hereby apologizing for not writing anything in so long. How am I doing that? With a song.

Y’all know I love rock music. I knew about Godsmack [a.n.- Sully Erna is the lead singer of the band Godsmack]. I loved the song I Stand Alone that is featured on the soundtrack of the movie The Scorpion King. In fact, that song is the reason I even mustered the will to watch the darn movie; and let’s face it, if you haven’t seen The Scorpion King, you do not deserve to live. (part two and part three were fun to watch, but not as fun as the original movie, even though it featured better actors). Anywho, here’s the vid for the soundtrack.

Lately, I’ve been sort of re-discovering Godsmack and Sully, and that is all thanks to a dear friend of mine. You can read her blog here: http://a-black-rose.blogspot.com/ she’s really amazing. Be kind, she’s not a native English speaker. P.S. – Viewer Discretion Advised.

She’s the epicness epicdom of epic epicness and she has a wicked taste in music that I am simply in awe of.

However, you already know that I try to keep the blah-blah to a minimum on this blog, and that is why I don’t write ‘classic’ reviews of songs/albums/artists/bands.

This is the only thing I will mention, not because it is the only thing worth mentioning, but because I could write a book on how awesome this band is.

The pyro effects in concerts are a pretty sweet touch. By that, I mean not everyone has the guts of including them in a show, mostly because of the high risks. The pyrotechnic effects add that something extra that make I Stand Alone one of the most awesome songs ever sung live.

Sully’s voice sounds even better live (how is that possible, right?!) than it does on a studio recording. Maybe I am a little biased on this- who cares?! I love a good band with good songs that sounds amah-zing! live.

I leave you with this amazing concert snippet, as I am off to watch The Avengers at the movie theatre with my best friend in the world. I hear it’s great, so expect a movie review soon, as well as a new playlist and if you’re lucky, maybe a movies-I’ve-seen-recently rating.

Thomas Neptune Interview

After much excitement, I finally got to ask Thomas a few questions. Some of these are horribly over-asked, but I thought it would be fun to see what Thomas has to say, and I was right.

For those of you who don’t know, Thomas is a singer/songwriter from the wondrous land of Hollywood, California. He is this year’s winner of the John Lennon Songwriting contest.

Now, I could just copy, and paste the official biography found on his website, but I am not going to. Instead, I am going to attempt sharing my impression of Thomas, and hope that I can express myself well enough in English, so that I don’t leave anything out.

Okay, so last night I got this e-mail… I initially thought it was spam, telling me about some guy named Thomas Neptune, and how he won the John Lennon songwriting contest (I actually made a typo, and it came out Jon Lennin, which was so funny for some reason, I couldn’t let it slide.), from someone at LaFamos.com , telling me that my blog is totally awesome, and that they would appreciate it if I’d blogged about him, because she noticed I blog a lot about music and stuff.

 

Recurring dream…

I had a dream last night (again) that I was running from something and I fell into a lake with pitch black water. It really felt like I was drowning, and I couldn’t see how to get back to the surface. It felt like I was going deeper and deeper into the water, and at one point I felt like I couldn’t move anymore. That’s when my special person jumped into the lake and pulled me out, and I felt safe and like it was all going to be OK… When I opened my eyes in the dream and saw his face, and he picked me up in his arms and hugged me, I didn’t feel scared anymore.

Feeling like you’re drowning has to be the most horrible feeling in the world. Even if it’s just in a dream…

From what I gathered (during my short google inquiry about the meaning of dark water), I found several things about it.

water: Emotions. If you’re entering then you may be going into strong feelings, deep water will find you looking deeply into you unconscious. One can drown in their own emotions. How deep is the water, how is it contained?

To dream that you are drowning indicates that you are feeling overwhelmed by emotions. Repressed issues may be coming back to haunt you. If your survive the drowning, then it means that a waking relationship or situation will ultimately survive the turmoil.

they pretty much say the same thing. I’m in love, and it’s hard, because we’re so far apart. The fact that he saves me every time , means that we will overcome all the hardships ahead of us.

I really hope that is true, because, dude, you’re the one I was waiting for all this time…

 

(*how*) I got Boyced, BABY!

When you think about those numbers… The YouTube/Facebook phenomena everybody is talking about starts to be defined within the grasp of everyone’s understanding.

Consoler Of The Lonely

I can’t complain. I’m doing great. I just wanted y’all to let you know what’s up , and why I haven’t blogged since last time. It wasn’t that long ago, but I have a feeling it’s gonna be a while until my next blog. It’s just a feeling, though! Anywho. I’ve been busy with my exams and studying all night and all that for a while. Haven’t had a decent meal since I left my parents’ house, because I’d rather study than cook. And everything else.

I think the best way to express what I’ve been doing for (at least) the past week is this song. Word for word.

 

 

This song is awesome. And fun. Even if I feel like I’m gonna die of boredom soon. Haha! Thank you Fabby, so fricken much for helping me find this song (and not only!) LOL. I  super love you and your totally awesome brothers. ☺♥

Ps- New Musical Find.

Thanks to the guys over at Boyce Avenue , and their upcoming duet with Tyler Ward, I youtubbed (is that even a word? Like google -> Googled; Youtube -> youtubbed? LOL!) him, so I could hear his voice. I was curious. But I knew that if the guys are recording a song with him, he must have an awesome voice. However, I did not expect to find this.

His voice is addicting. Not as addicting as Alejandro’s (LOL), but I kind of take dirty pleasure in listening to this song. It’s like the velvet texture of his voice is gently gliding across my skin. I love his voice. And in a perverse way, it almost feels like I am cheating on the guys (Fabian, Alejandro and Daniel from Boyce Avenue) every time I enjoy any of Tyler’s tracks a wee too much.

(ps- not to be rude, but I think he should lose the bieber cut. Not cool, dude. Not cool at all. You’re too talented. Ergo, you should get a cooler haircut)
