“Why do you listen to sad music if you’re sad?!”

“you gotta listen to happy music, so you can get happy again.” My roommate just told me…
The truth? Music is an escape for me… and it helps me express my feelings, offering me a broader outlet than words do most of the time… no matter how great the heartache… when I close my eyes and sing along , or just hum, or just shut up and listen… it transcends my world. When I have music around me, I am in a better place… In a place where nothing can hurt me, and in a world that knows no pain.
Maybe some of you, dear readers would like to know the answer to that question yourselves. The answer is simple… music takes you to a better place. An alternate reality, if you will, that is simply better, and makes each of our lives better, and a bit more bearable at times.
I was called selfish for wanting the best in the world for someone I care about. If that is selfish, then how is it called when you want the opposite?

My sister asked me recently “Why are all the songs on your ipod sad?”
I love to listen to sad songs especially while drinking alcohol. I honestly don’t know why. I am a very emotional person. I have walked through Hell and back a couple times in the past few years. I am searching for all the answers to MY life and …well…I don’t know…
Rob Thomas is the BEST voice to sing into your ears when you are sad. Any suggestions anyone???
